HOW IT ALL GOT STARTED
After being laid off, I was looking for ways to cut our family budget and still dress my kids in nice clothes. I heard about a children’s consignment sale and decided to check it out. I was amazed by the variety of items, both gently used and new with tags. I was able to purchase so many cute clothes for my daughter at unbelievably low prices. After that I consigned and shopped at consignment sales for several years. As a consignor, I once earned over $100 on my items and donated the remaining items to charity. As a shopper, I once purchased 10 shirts/skirts/pants for my daughter, 8 outfits for my son, 2 pairs of shoes, a toy, and a puzzle for $90. The earnings and savings are real! I am living proof.
After participating in consignment sales for several years, I wanted to find one closer to my home in Southern Prince George’s County. The closest ones I found were in Virginia and going towards Baltimore but nothing in my immediate community. I wanted to bring a consignment sale to Southern Prince George’s County and help the community benefit from not only the savings, but the earnings. Hence, the start of the Our Stylish Kids Consignment Sale.
